Cindy Ye joined Exaktera in April 2022 as the Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in August 2024. Before joining Exaktera, she served as the CFO of Optovue Inc., a global leader in optical coherence tomography technology for the medical diagnostics industry. Earlier in her career, Cindy led the Strategic Investment Management Office in the North American market for Delta Electronics, a global electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan. She also gained significant corporate and investment banking experience at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Cindy holds a BS in Finance and Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Northwestern University in the USA.
Darren joined Exaktera as Director of Finance in August 2023 and transitioned to Chief Financial Officer in September 2024. He is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant and graduated from Munster Technological University in Ireland. With over 30 years of experience at the Group and Divisional level, Darren has led financial transformation, strategic planning, market funding, regulatory funding, and other significant initiatives for organizations including Moog, Pepsi, Stryker, and Gas Networks Ireland.
Thomas Buschmann joined Exaktera in August 2023 as the Chief Operations Officer, VP of Exaktera Europe, and CEO of Z-Laser. He is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in the diagnostics, medical, and photonics industries. His experience ranges from “hands-on” work to building and leading international R&D/engineering organizations, global program management offices, RA/QA structures, as well as multi-million-dollar cross-functional, international footprint projects. Thomas has worked for small startups, mid-size businesses, and large international organizations like Siemens and Danaher. Before joining Exaktera, he served as the Global VP of Research & Product Development of the Thermo Fisher/Anatomical Pathology Division. He holds an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
Kiyomi Monro joined Exaktera as Vice President of the LED Division in January 2023 and was appointed Chief Commercial Officer in April 2024. He has over 35 years of experience in international general management, sales, marketing, and finance. He has spent 28 years in the photonics industry, holding senior general management, sales, marketing, and executive positions at leading photonics companies. Before Exaktera, Kiyomi was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Coherent, Inc., managing the global salesforce for the laser systems group. Kiyomi has served as CEO of Biophotonic Solutions and Mobius Photonics and was the Managing Director of Coherent Japan. He holds a master’s degree in economics from Boston University, USA.
