When standard lighting reaches its limits
LUMIMAX® illuminators are engineered around a single constraint: maximum photon flux in a compact form factor. The product range covers ring lights, bar lights and area lights, all available for both continuous and strobe operation. Each model is designed for integration into demanding machine vision systems where intensity, uniformity and thermal stability are the performance-limiting factors.
Typical applications include high-speed line scan inspection, inspection of highly reflective or specular surfaces, and deep-field imaging where working distances push the limits of standard illumination power.
Strobe operation and thermal management
LUMIMAX® products are designed to operate in strobe mode, delivering peak intensities far above what continuous operation permits. The drive electronics are integrated into the housing rather than supplied as a separate controller, which keeps installation compact and eliminates the cable runs that degrade signal integrity at high strobe frequencies.
Thermal design is not an afterthought: maintaining the LED junction at a stable temperature is what preserves peak intensity, spectral stability and service life. Each unit is characterised for its thermal steady state under strobe duty cycle, so actual field performance matches the datasheet.
