Every ply in the right place, on the right revision.
ZLP laser projectors project ply boundaries, fibre orientation and datum references straight onto the tool from your CAD data. There are no paper templates to interpret, no superseded drawings, and every projected layout is logged for traceability.
From first conversation to running production.
Every composite shop works differently, so each project starts with your application. We analyse the task and run a feasibility check that includes cost efficiency. Then we configure a projection system to your tools and parts. After delivery and integration, our team supports you remotely or on site as your production develops.
The ply goes where the projection shows, not where the drawing suggests.
ZLP laser projectors guide composite layup by projecting ply boundaries, fibre orientation markers and datum references directly onto the tool surface. Operators place each ply to the projected contour. There is no paper drawing to interpret, no risk of working from a superseded revision and no doubt about where the boundary lies. Ply-position errors, and the non-conformance reports that follow them, become far rarer.
Layouts are generated from your 3D CAD data, managed centrally and sent to the projectors automatically whenever a revision changes. An audit trail records which layout version was projected for each ply and each component. This supports the traceability requirements of aerospace and defence programmes.

From aerospace wing tools to wind turbine blades.
ZLP2 High Power brings guidance projection to the largest composite tools. It offers working distances up to 20 meters with sub-millimetre accuracy at full reach and network connectivity for layout updates from your engineering system. Wing panels, fuselage sections and wind turbine blade mandrels are all within range. In rotor blade manufacturing, laser-guided layup can increase productivity by up to 30%.
Multiple projectors register to a single tool coordinate system, so the template runs seamlessly along the full tool length, whichever projector covers each zone. When you add a projector position, the system registers it automatically, with no manual measurement.

Our team works with composite manufacturers on layup guidance, tool scale, accuracy requirements and system integration. Tell us your application and we’ll specify the right solution.
