Laser projection for faster, more accurate blade layup
Exaktera laser projectors display the contours of each composite layer directly onto the blade mold from CAD data, giving operators clear visual guidance without physical templates. The ZLP2-HighPower delivers bright, precise projection even in challenging lighting conditions, at projection distances of up to 20 meters.
Accurate layup on large, curved molds.
Plies of fiberglass, carbon fiber and prepreg must be placed accurately across large, curved blade molds. Manual layup with physical templates are is slow and prone to error, and every placement mistake affects blade quality and leads to rework. At the same time, material costs and waste need to be kept under control.
From root to tip with multi-projector systems.
Wind turbine blade mandrels run from 40 to 100 metres, so blade lines typically use several projectors working together. Each ZLP2-HighPower covers a working area of up to 10 x 10 m at projection distances of up to 20 m, with an accuracy better than 0.1 mm per metre. ZLP-Suite software manages multiple projectors as one network, so ply contours can be projected along the length of the mold. Operators place fibreglass and carbon fibre mats, prepregs, decals and other components to the projected outline, ply by ply.

Works with your CAD data and production systems.
ZLP-Suite imports layup data in formats including DXF, IGES and PLY, with further formats available through a plugin concept. Operators run projections through the ZLP-Manager interface and can follow step-by-step optical work instructions created in the workflow editor. User administration controls who can change projection data and settings. To integrate projectors into your existing production software, an API supports C++, C#, Python and other languages over TCP/IP.
