About the LMX-BF200X200
Introduction
The BF200x200 is a flat area light with a 200 × 200 mm light field, built for backlighting and silhouette inspection where the part, not the lighting, should be the difficult bit.
It is 11 mm deep. That matters more than it sounds: it lets the light sit inside a machine rather than dictate its layout, and it makes the difference between a fixture you design around and one you fit.
Choosing a variant
Six part numbers cover two decisions.
Light guidance — diffuse for even, shadow-free illumination across the field, or directed with a 30° LED beam angle where you need more intensity on axis.
Colour — red, white at 8500 K, or 850 nm infrared. Red and infrared are the usual choices where you want contrast without visible glare on the line; white where an operator also needs to see the part.
Integration
The controller is built in, so there is no separate driver to find room for. It takes a wide-range 19–30 V DC supply and connects by a 150 mm cable to an M8 4-pin plug.
It runs continuously or switched, with a PLC switching input at a 15–30 V DC high level, and reaches full brightness within 3.5 ms of the signal.
Rated IP64 and specified for 5–45 °C non-condensing.
Applications
Backlighting for dimensional measurement, presence and absence checking, edge detection and silhouette inspection — anywhere a part must be separated cleanly from its background.
