BL138 High Intensity Linear Backlight

The BL138 Series is a high intensity linear backlight for high-speed web material imaging with line scan cameras. A passively cooled finned heatsink carries away the heat that ultra-high power LEDs generate, so the light needs no cooling fans and adds nothing that can fail or shed dust into the process.

Lengths run 82.8 mm to 2445.0 mm at 50.2 mm wide and 94.8 mm high, and the extrusion-based aluminium housing scales in one dimension so a wider web is covered by a longer unit. Two M6 mounting channels on each side allow the position and angle to be set from either direction of the frame.

Ultra-high power industrial grade LEDs run in exceptionally bright strobe or continuous mode depending on the control configuration, which suits both fast line scan and slower area scan work from one head. Optional uniformity balancing every six inches keeps exposure consistent on runs over 24 in. The BL138 range covers white, 455 nm, 530 nm, 625 nm, 850 nm and RGB, is rated IP50 and holds L70 lumen maintenance at 50,000 hours.
