DF242 Large Low Angle Dark Field Ring

The DF242 is a large low angle dark field ring light for surface defect detection on flat, specular reflective parts. Aimed LEDs produce a thin slice of light at a very low angle of incidence, so scratches, pits and shallow marks return light to the camera while the surrounding surface stays dark.

At 178.3 mm square and 14.2 mm high with a 121.4 mm inner diameter, the DF242 clears normal machine vision optics and still fits into shallow inspection stations. Its larger diameter carries an additional LED aim, which extends the projected spot on target so one head covers a wider inspection window.

Three field sizes of 25 mm, 35 mm and 70 mm are specified at time of order, matching the illuminated area to the part. White light lumen maintenance is L70 at 50,000 hours for consistent contrast, and the anodised aluminium and powder coated steel housing weighs 548 g. The DF242 range offers moderate intensity in white, 395 nm, 470 nm, 520 nm, 625 nm and 880 nm, certified to CE, RoHS and IEC 62471.
