About the LMX-DFL100FL-W
Overview
The DFL100 lights the part almost along the surface, at a grazing angle. On a specular surface that reflects even front light straight into the camera and hides everything, this low angle does the opposite: the flat surface goes dark, and only the relief that stands proud of it — scratches, edges, micro-defects — catches the light and shows.
That makes it the tool to reach for when a defect is a change in topography rather than a change in colour or print. Bright-field light would flood past a fine scratch; the dark field angle turns the same scratch into a bright line against a dark field.
It is a LUMIMAX ring built for continuous or switching operation on a machine-vision line. Dark field is deliberately narrow in what it does well, so pair it with the surface and defect you actually need to catch, and size the ring to the part.
