About the DFL150-W
Overview
The DFL150 brings dark field lighting to larger parts. Like the smaller heads in the range it grazes the surface at a low angle, so a flat specular part reads dark and only its relief shows — but its wider diameter throws that grazing light across a bigger area.
That makes it the choice when the surface you need to inspect is too large for a compact dark field ring to cover evenly. Scratches, embossed features and edge defects all stand out against the dark surface, provided the flaw is a change in topography rather than in colour.
It is a LUMIMAX ring for continuous or switching operation. As with any dark field geometry, it is a specialist: excellent on reflective surface relief, and the wrong tool where a part wants even front lighting instead.
