Overview
This is the mid-size cloudy-day dome in the LUMIMAX range. A cloudy-day dome earns its name honestly: it surrounds the part with even, omnidirectional light like an overcast sky, so a highly specular or curved surface is lit from every angle at once and shows no hot spots.
That omnidirectional light is exactly what a shiny, contoured part needs — reflective housings, curved metal, glossy packaging — where any single-direction light would bounce back into the camera and hide the feature under a glare. The camera views through the top of the dome.
It sits in the middle of the LUMIMAX dome range by diameter, between the compact and the large heads, so size it to the part you need to enclose. Like every dome it is a specialist for curved, specular surfaces rather than a general-purpose light for flat work.
