About the LMX-DOM-CD50
Overview
This is the compact head in the LUMIMAX dome range. Like any hemispherical dome it wraps the part in diffuse light from all directions, so a small curved or specular surface reads evenly and the reflections that a direct light would throw back never form.
It is built for continuous or switching operation and driven by an external LUMIMAX controller rather than an onboard one, which keeps the head small and lets several lights on a line share a common control scheme.
Its inner diameter is the smallest in the dome range, so it suits small parts and tight stations; step up through the larger diameters as the part grows. A dome is the tool for curved, specular surfaces — on flat parts a diffuse area or backlight is the better match.
