FX Edge-lit Flat Diffuse Light

The FX Series was the edge-lit member of the flat diffuse family, a space saving design for illuminating highly reflective objects in a housing only 19.1 mm thick, which let it work where a back-lit panel had no room. Production ceased on October 31, 2024, and Advanced Illumination recommends the FX2 Series as the replacement at no additional cost.

Pre-engineered sizes ran from 3 in to 24 in square in 1 in increments, and a central aperture was specified from 1/4 in to 3 in in 1/4 in steps under the FXXXYY part number key, so the camera looked straight through the panel. An M6 nut channel on all four sides allowed mounting from any edge, with LB111 brackets supplied as standard.

Visible and infrared builds covered 455 nm, 530 nm, 625 nm and 850 nm along with white, reaching 9.2 kLux at 4 in standoff. A 4 in square unit weighed 553.4 g and the housing was rated IP50. The FX2 Series improves on light output, structural rigidity, emitting window uniformity and efficiency.
