About the LMX-LES60
Introduction
Illumination on the camera's own axis, through a 45° beam splitter, over a 60 × 60 mm field.
LES60 is where the family stops being only a small-part light. It is also the size at which the range opens up: diffuse or collimated light guidance, a polarised build, and 850 nm infrared alongside the visible colours.
Three light guidances, not one
Diffuse spreads the light across the field: even, forgiving of surface texture, the default for reading a flat part.
Collimated keeps the rays parallel. On a specular surface that turns any local tilt into a sharp change in brightness — a scratch, a dent or a lifted edge goes dark where diffuse light would have filled it in.
The polarised build adds a filter over the window. Paired with an analyser on the lens it suppresses the specular return that survives even on-axis lighting, which is what a wet, coated or laminated surface throws back.
Fast enough to be triggered
100 % brightness within 1.2 µs in strobe, and within 200 µs in switching mode.
That first figure is the one that matters on a moving line: the light is at full output before the exposure opens, so the flash contributes no ramp to the image.
Flash duration is 10–100 µs, 20–220 µs or 50–750 µs by part number, at 10, 35 or 100 Hz. Triggering takes TTL at 3 to 30 V DC or PLC at 15 to 30 V DC, on the rising edge.
What it puts on the part
Roughly two and a half times an LES40 at the same distance, and a strobe peak past a million lux at the window.
Setting the brightness
A potentiometer on the light, 0 % at the left stop to 100 % at the right, or the analogue VC input at 2 to 10 V DC from the machine. The controller is inside the housing; there is no external box to mount.
Applications
PCB and electronics inspection. Glass and display. Polished and coated metal. Print, label and code reading. The infrared build for subsurface and through-coating views the visible colours cannot reach.
Where it fits
Between LES40 at 40 × 40 mm and LES80 at 80 × 80 mm. LES60 is the smallest in the family to offer collimated and polarised builds.
