The LL174 is the workhorse bar: a scalable linear array built for a wide range of machine vision tasks rather than one specialised job. Its value is versatility and reliability — a design that has been in the field long enough to be trusted — and it is offered in a range of wavelengths and lens angles, with diffuser and polarizer options, so one familiar bar covers most incident-lighting work.

A general-purpose workhorse

Not every application needs a specialised bar. The LL174 is the one to reach for when the job is ordinary machine vision — surface and web inspection, presence-and-absence, code reading — and what matters is a reliable, well-understood light rather than a maximum spec. It scales in length to suit the field of view, takes a narrow, medium or wide lens to set the beam, and accepts a diffuser to soften the light or a polarizer to cut specular glare.
