RL3536 Aimed Dark Field Ring

The RL3536 is an aimed dark field ring light for surface defect inspection on flat parts. Precisely aimed LEDs strike the surface at a low angle and give a repeatable pattern on the imaging plane, so scratches, engraving and edges scatter light into the lens while the flat surround stays dark.

The inner diameter accommodates lenses up to 55 mm in diameter, covering the optics used on higher resolution cameras. The head comes in standard and 3-point mounting barrel variants, so it can be fixed in a frame or held in a barrel clamp that keeps standoff repeatable through changeovers.

Output reaches up to 8.4 kLux at a 3 in working distance, enough for short exposures on a moving line, with L70 lumen maintenance at 50,000 hours. The 625 nm, 660 nm and 880 nm builds draw 0.18 A at 24 V and the shorter wavelength and white builds draw 0.12 A. The RL3536 range spans the ultraviolet to the infrared with diffuser and polarizer options; the 249.5 g head runs from 0 to 60 degrees C.
