ZQ1 Standard

Introduction

ZQ1 Standard is the high-power end of the machine vision range: up to 2,500 mW across 405 to 820 nm, with active Peltier cooling to hold it there.

Cooling is what makes the power usable. A laser diode driven hard drifts as it warms, and the Peltier stage is why this module holds pointing stability under 1% over 24 hours rather than over a shift.

Control

Digital, over RS-232, I²C, TTL to 200 kHz, and analogue, with a power monitor output.

Four interfaces on one module is unusual, and it matters for integration: the laser can sit on whatever bus the machine already has rather than forcing a converter into the design.

TTL at 200 kHz strobes far faster than any camera needs, so the constraint is the sensor.

Environment

DIN EN 61373 certified for shock and vibration — the rail standard. Together with IP67 and the −10 °C lower limit, that puts this module on moving plant rather than in a cabinet.

Mounting

The dimensional drawing carries a note worth reading before designing the bracket: the mounting face must be fitted to a heatsink. At 2,500 mW the Peltier stage moves heat out of the diode and into the housing, and it has to go somewhere from there.

Where it fits

ZQ1 High Power is the same housing in NIR wavelengths for strong ambient light; ZQ1 Magic Line trades power for thermal stability at 6 µrad/K. For lower power in a smaller body, the ZX range starts at 30 g.
