ProPhotonix
Custom LED arrays and laser diode modules designed for OEM integration — where the application demands a photonic component built to specification, not selected from a catalogue.
ProPhotonix is an Irish photonics company with design and manufacturing facilities in Cork and New Hampshire. For over 25 years they have designed custom LED illumination modules and laser diode assemblies for OEM customers across machine vision, medical diagnostics, life science instrumentation and industrial sensing. Exaktera distributes and supports the ProPhotonix range across the UK and Europe.
Custom LED illumination modules
ProPhotonix designs and manufactures LED line generators and structured light modules as custom-integrated components for machine vision OEMs. Where a standard illuminator will not meet the optical, spectral or mechanical requirement of an application — a specific wavelength, a non-standard beam geometry, a constrained form factor — ProPhotonix engineers the solution from the component level up.
Wavelength selection, drive electronics, optics and packaging are all handled in-house, so the specification is owned end to end. The same process applies whether the volume is 50 units for a specialist instrument or 5,000 units for an industrial platform.

Laser diode assemblies for OEM integration
ProPhotonix assembles laser diode modules from leading semiconductor manufacturers including Ondax, Ushio, OSRAMopto and QSI — selected for wavelength accuracy, power stability and long-term reliability. Assemblies cover single-mode, multi-mode and fibre-coupled configurations for sensing, ranging, spectroscopy and medical instrumentation applications.
For applications requiring a custom combination of diode, driver, collimator and housing, ProPhotonix’s assembly capability makes a configured part available at OEM volumes rather than requiring a fully bespoke design.
