Chameleon

The Chameleon is a protection housing for cameras that look sideways out of the enclosure, for inspecting a passing web or a conveyor from directly alongside. The 90 degree viewing direction puts the lens in the long face of the body, so the camera lies flat against the machine and needs no bracket to turn it.

The Chameleon takes cameras up to 36 mm high with lenses to 42 mm, on a 175 x 80 mm footprint only 62 mm deep, which fits into the narrow gap beside a conveyor frame. A taller ST version gives 72 mm of lens clearance for longer optics on the same footprint.

The powder coated aluminium body weighs 710 g and is rated IP66 and IP67 for jetting water and temporary immersion. A 42 mm window aperture keeps the field clear. The Chameleon range offers 2 inch windows in acrylic, BK7, sapphire or germanium out to 14 um, a twin germanium and glass lid for the Flir Ax8, and a 20 mm cable gland.
