Mammoth

Introduction

Mammoth is shaped for a specific problem: cameras that are long and tall rather than square. Line scan cameras, large area sensors and thermal imagers up to 90 x 150 mm.

The body is 173 x 113 x 277 mm in powder-coated aluminium, 2,650 g, sealed to IP65. Inner length is 259 mm.

Windows

Two apertures: 45 mm (2 inch) and 65 mm (3 inch), in IR mirror, sapphire, germanium or acrylic with double-sided anti-reflective coating.

Lens diameter is up to 90 mm through the profile and 78 mm through the front lid — the front lid being the constraint worth checking against the lens before ordering.

Window seal is EPDM, enclosure seals NBR, cable gland seal TPE.

Rear walls and ordering

Four rear walls: 22 mm on A, 26.5 mm on C, plus B and D.

Order numbers are specific to the rear wall and window combination — a 3-inch germanium window on one rear wall is a different part number from the same window on another.

Where it fits

Mammoth is the enclosure for cameras that will not fit a square section. For a large but square camera, Elefant is the better shape; for anything under 40 x 40 mm, Salamander and Lizard are considerably smaller and lighter.

Note that IP65 is a lower rating than the IP66/IP67 of most of the range, so Mammoth is for a protected installation rather than a washdown.
