Megalodon

The Megalodon is a protection housing for long-bodied cameras such as the Dalsa Linea, Basler Runner, Flir A400 to A700 and JAI Spark. It gives 212 mm of internal length with a 160 mm clamping area, so a long camera body is held along its length and stays aligned under machine vibration.

The Megalodon takes cameras up to 62 x 62 mm in cross section, and larger depending on edge radius, with lenses up to 87 mm in diameter. A reverse version puts the cable gland at the opposite end and accepts every Orca front lid, which lets a site reuse lids and extensions it already stocks.

The 96 x 96 x 227 mm body is anodised aluminium at 1350 g, rated IP66 and IP67 for jetting water and temporary immersion. The Megalodon range carries a 68 mm window in acrylic, BK7 or germanium, a twin germanium and BK7 lid for the Flir A400 to A700, dome lids for fisheye lenses, and heating, water cooling, pneumatic shutter and air blower options.
