Turtle

The Turtle is a climate protection housing for vision systems working in high ambient temperatures, where active cooling keeps the camera inside its operating range. It runs from a DC supply alone, so the enclosure can be powered by a solar panel at remote installations with no mains nearby.

The Turtle takes cameras up to 100 x 100 mm in cross section and lenses up to 120 mm in diameter, which covers most industrial cameras with a long lens fitted. Cooling and heating come from the controller with adjustable hysteresis, holding a constant internal temperature so image quality stays stable through the working day.

Operation runs from -20 to +70 degrees C ambient, and up to +50 degrees C under 350 W/m2 of solar radiation, so the camera can sit in direct sun outdoors. The housing is rated IP65 and the fan IP54. Vibration-proof mounting and 90 degree image rotation speed up alignment on site. The Turtle range offers M and L sizes, standard and flange versions, and windows in BK7, acrylic, sapphire or germanium for wavelengths to 14 um.
